WWF-India has been supporting Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve since 1991. Its work for this renowned reserve is overseen by a dedicated team. Pradeep Kumar Singh has been a Field Officer for the Ranthambhore Tiger Conservation Project since May 2008. He works closely with various government departments such as Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry to learn about the schemes available and shares them with the local communities to help them avail the benefits. His excellent communication skills have helped him build a good rapport with government officials and earn the trust of the villagers, who respect and value his judgment. He currently looks after the farm sector initiatives, tree plantation activities with villagers, and improving cattle breeds.

When asked about his experience working for WWF-India, he says, “When I joined WWF-India, I got an identity for my work. I have learnt a lot about ecosystems, wildlife and its conservation, awareness and attitude of local communities. Villagers around the park understand our vision of empowering the local communities, as well as conserving the forests.”

According to Lima Rosalind, Sr. Consultant for the Ranthambhore Tiger Conservation Project, “Pradeep is an excellent team player and has also shown leadership qualities in the work he does. His conflict resolution skills have got him a good fan following among the local people. He is a quick learner and never gets ruffled”
