Meet the Team
Sujit Sonwani
Sujit Sonwani is one of the finest Field Officers with WWF-India in the Central Indian Satpuda Maikal Landscape (SML) Tiger Conservation Project. Among the senior most members of the team, he is currently located at Lormi village in Chhattisgarh State’s Bilaspur District.
According to Shivaji Chavan, Senior landscape coordinator (SML), “He has been very active in successfully implementing and monitoring livelihoods program and other project interventions. He has been very effective in building a good liaison with the Forest Department and other government departments.”
Sujit has recently been appointed as a member of the Monitoring Committee for Achanakmar Tiger Reserve in Chhattisgarh, for the ongoing village relocation by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). This is a significant achievement for the project as a local Field Officer has been recognised by the NTCA.
