About the Campaign
‘Save Our Tigers’ media campaign is an initiative of telecommunication giant Aircel in partnership with WWF-India. Since its launch on 30th January 2010, it has generated tremendous support from the common man and helped increase awareness about the need to save the tiger. This campaign has made a deep impact on the ordinary citizens of India, who today better realize that the tiger’s future is in their hands. Across India, hundreds of people from various walks of life have geared up to 'roar' for our national animal. They have taken the responsibility to do everything in their capacity to help protect the tiger. Some have shown their support in the form of cyber activism, while others have come forward to commit their time and skills towards this cause by volunteering with WWF-India. This campaign has successfully raised the public profile of the critical issue of tiger conservation by involving some of India's well-known celebrities including sports persons.
WWF-India is building on the campaign momentum and the awareness generated by it amongst the public to involve the masses in WWF-India’s efforts to conserve wild tigers.
