Estimating forest cover density of Palamau Tiger Reserve

IGCMC carried out the study to estimate forest cover in the Palamau Tiger Reserve. The satellite imageries (FCCs) for the area were procured from NRSA and the topographic sheets from the Survey of India. The preparation of basemap, image interpretation and ground truthing, classification of forest types and area calculation for each forest type was done in the study area with inputs from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing.
