WWF-India, as part of its Global Forest and Trade Network (GFTN) programme is organizing an event to celebrate 1st International FSC Friday 2009 on 25th Sept 2009 in New Delhi. The objectives of FSC Friday are to create awareness on credible forest certification, celebrate forests around the globe and help promote forest management world wide.
The event include release of a poster prepared by WWF-India and printed in FSC paper, exhibition of FSC certified Indian companies products and posters.
FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment. In India, the number of companies that secured FSC certificate has increased substantially during the last two years and several companies are in progress to certification.
