WWF-India capacity and strength

WWF-India has a network of state and divisional offices in all the states around the coastline which are primarily engaged in environment education and awareness (EEA) programme and have done EEA modules on oceans and coasts. All the state and divisional office have Education officers.

Besides its own presence, WWF-India's network has established links with other agencies involved in marine turtle conservation. The ongoing UNDP-Govt. of India sea turtle project is based on strengthening agencies working on turtle conservation like, Marine Turtle Preservation Group -India, Operation Kachhapa (which is sanskrit for turtles), Student Sea Turtle Conservation Network etc. in India. This provides opportunity to WWF-India to contribute to the ongoing work on the basis of emerging needs and avoid duplication of efforts.
