WWF-India is deeply saddened by the loss of our former Secretary General, Mr. Thomas Mathew. He joined WWF-India in 1981 and worked with us in various capacities for more than a decade. He served as the Secretary General from 1987 to 1993. His vision and leadership provided a strong foundation for WWF-India’s growth and conservation impact.
His legacy will continue to inspire WWF-India and future conservationists all over the world. He was conferred the title of an officer of the Order of the Golden Ark in 1994 in recognition of his services to international conservation and also awarded a Certificate of Merit by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service for his contributions to conservation in 1998.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
