WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications for two posts of Project Social Scientist, from candidates with an inherent sensitivity towards the conservation of nature and environment.
 
Locations: i) Leh, Ladakh
                  ii) Himachal Pradesh
       
Job Description:
  1. Leh, Ladakh 
  • Developing a Comprehensive Human-Wildlife Conflict Management Strategy in Changthang Landscape, Jammu & Kashmir
  • Conduct detailed in-depth field studies to understand the nature of human wildlife conflict, evaluate mitigation measures and policy frameworks
  • Collate and all data and maintain records in a neat and standard format in Microsoft excel
  • Organize meeting with key stakeholders to take their inputs for strategy development
  • Analyse data and write reports
   ii) Himachal Pradesh 
  • Developing a Comprehensive Human-Wildlife Conflict Management Strategy in Lahaul-Pangi Landscape and Kinnaur Landscape, Himachal Pradesh
  • Conduct detailed in-depth field studies to understand the nature of human wildlife conflict, evaluate mitigation measures and policy frameworks
  • Organize meeting with key stakeholders to take their inputs for strategy development
  • Collate and all data and maintain records in a neat and standard format in Microsoft excel
  • Analyse data and write reports
Qualifications & Experience

·         Master’s in Social Science/Psychology/Anthropology or related disciplines.

  • Prior field experience in working in high altitudes is desirable
  • Good oral and written knowledge of English and Hindi are mandatory
Special Expertise / Experience –
  • Good knowledge of social science methods, tools and analysis
  • Demonstrated skills in writing technical reports and peer reviewed manuscripts
