The Indian Paradise Flycatcher is a small perching bird which catches insects in mid-flight.The bird has a glossy black head and crest. The male has long central tail feathers or streamers and its body can be white or rufous-brown with a white chest. The female is rufous with a grey-white chest and no streamers. Its tiny cup-nest is made of spiders web, twigs and grass, and both male and female take part in nest-building, incubation and feeding the hatchlings.
