Going Beyond the Hour
- Supporters across 130 Indian cities switched off lights for one hour, and committed to a low carbon lifestyle.
- Over 1,000,000 students joined the movement as young environmentalists.
- Chief Minister, Smt. Sheila Dixit switched off lights at India Gate at 8:30 along with Brand Ambassador Vidya Balan.
- Going beyond the hour, ING Vysya Bank inaugurated their first solar ATM on the morning of Earth Hour 2011.

- 7 million Indians participated.
- 128 cities switched off to show support
- 600,000 students supported.
- 120 Public and Private Enterprises joined in.
- Earth Hour campaign won the ‘WOW Paradigm of the Year’ award for the best social campaign.
