Several months ago, WWF-India’s staff came together to revisit the question of how best to support the organization’s work to stop the degradation of our planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. We arrived at the conviction that to do so we must truly capture the imagination of India’s public and inspire them to participate in our work. So, WWF-India’s Partnership Programme was conceived.
We decided that WWF-India, being a reservoir of specialised knowledge on environment conservation, would provide its supporters with a platform for becoming an agent of change.
WWF-India's Partnership Programme is designed on the principle that our Partners, if they wish to participate in environment conservation, rather than volunteering directly with WWF, can initiate environmentally positive activities within the scope of their own daily lives. Based on this principle, we envisioned that partnerwwf.in would become an online network of voices for the practice of Indian Environmental Citizenship, with WWF-India as its custodian.
One becomes a WWF-India Partner by agreeing to spend at least one hour every month engaged in an activity of environmental importance. The activities that a Partner chooses every month depends entirely on their interest, lifestyle and personal capacity. WWF-India's Partnership Programme acts as are resource, supplying them with innovative and practical options for fulfilling this personal commitment – a step towards transforming themselves into true Green Citizens.
On the Partner's Area of partnerwwf.in, a personal account and internal network reserved for Partners only, we encourage Partners to share their environment-related activities with fellow Partners. As our movement grows, we believe this will blossom into a resource-rich, interactive space for the exchange of ideas and the generation of fresh perspectives for preserving India’s rich natural heritage.
Each WWF-India Partner also donates a minimum of Rs. 108 every month toward WWF-India's conservation work. A Partner is given the choice of directing this donation toward any or all of WWF-India's programmes, and will receive regular feedback on the work that they are supporting.
Your support to our conservation efforts by partnering with will not only help in creating a much required mandate for environmental protection at a policy level but also gives us the strength to carry on the good work of conservation at the field level. You contribution will also help in funding several of our key initiatives to save the environment.
