The applicants filed a complaint against respondent establishing coir industry which caused noise and air pollution, damaging the crops on the applicants fields. TNSPCB first cancelled their licence and ordered closure and gave them 3 months to implement pollution control measures. Matter came to the tribunal after they failed to do the same. The tribunal, based on the report submitted by the Board held that respondent had taken all measures to mitigate dust pollution and direction was given to monitor the air pollution so as to ensure that it did not occur again.
