Workshop with Railway frontline staff in Dehradun and Haridwar

On 11th and 12th November, WWF-India in collaboration with Uttarakhand Forest Department and Northern Railway organized sensitization workshop for the railway frontline staff. The program was organized with the support from USAID funded Asia’s Linear Infrastructure safeGuarding Nature (ALIGN) project.

In the workshop, the officials and field staffs involved in everyday business of railway operating staff including P. Way/Locomotive pilots, train managers, Station Master, Loco- assistants, track men among others together with the forest guards and officials who regularly go through the forest areas alongside the railway tracks came together to discuss on the issues and devise the way forward to minimize the impacts of railway collision that often result in the death or injury of animals.
