WWF-India has collaborated with Sushant University in devising and rolling out Natural Resource Safeguards in ‘Infrastructure Planning’ for third semester Master’s degree in Planning course. This collaboration has been made possible by the generous support of faculties, management and experts at Sushant University. This document entails the processes involved in designing and roll out of a course curriculum in Department of Planning, Art and Research in Sushant University.

WWF-India expects that students passing through this course will emerge more aware and more sensitive to the role environmental conservation plays in long-term development. This is a step towards developing a cadre of future planners who are equipped to design interventions that can integrate development and conservation. Given the limited and fragile nature of our remaining natural ecosystems, it is imperative that our development pathways are based on sound planning that takes into account the importance of our natural environment. WWF looks forward to feedback from students and faculty on this pioneering initiative, which we hope will continue to evolve and expand.
