Students Speak: LLM 2019-20

Mr. Divya Abhishek

Mr. Divya Abhishek currently works with the Indian Customs Department. He is an alumnus of Government Law College Mumbai Batch of 2015-18. His stint with Economics during MA brought him closer to the field of Law. Apart from his exposure to the fields of both law and economics, he has a good knowledge (PGDM & CAIIB) and experience (as Deputy Manager in SBI) in the field of Banking, Finance and Management. Mr. Abhishek is a diligent worker, commended consistently for his work ethic by his employers. He also engages with public speaking which has won him many awards. Mr. Abhishek aspires to be an activist working for access to justice and hopes to add value through his work in the fields of legal pedagogy, academic research and environmental awareness.

"I enrolled for LLM in Environmental Law, Energy and Climate Change (ELECC) as it allows me to pursue my scholarly interests. I wish to pursue my Ph.D. in Energy and Climate Change in near future. Energy and Climate Change undoubtedly remains one of the most interesting and emerging key areas of study in our times. I am happy that all the Courses in our LLM (ELECC) are thoroughly thought-through and taught in proper context. I have a special liking for the teaching methodology employed by the Course-Instructors.”

Ms. Namrata Kabra

Namrata Kabra is an alumnus of KLE Society’s Law College, Bengaluru (2011-16). She has completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law & Policy and Tourism & Environmental Law from Centre for Environmental Law – WWF, India and National Law University, Delhi. She has worked in the field of environmental law for around two years during which, she also co-authored a Status Report titled, “Bangalore’s Toxic Legacy Intensifies”. Ms. Kabra aspires to join academics while continuing with her stints in environmental activism. Legal education, access to justice, socio-legal intervention in topics of relevance and policy drafting, are some of the key areas of her interest.

Mr. Neeraj Nachiketa

Neeraj Nachiketa is a lawyer practicing in the field of Intellectual Property Rights Law at Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India. He is an alumnus of IIT Powai and has gained his LLB degree from University of Mumbai. He has also completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights Law from NLSIU, Bangalore and a General Course on Intellectual Property Law from World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva. Apart from being a lawyer, Mr. Nachiketa also mentors Civil Service Aspirants. He has authored five books and many articles, including pieces for Civil Service Chronicles. Mr. Nachiketa has deep interest in areas of Law and Technology, Energy Management, Environmental Science and Intellectual Property Rights Law. After completing his LL.M., he aspires to pursue Ph.D. in Environmental Law, contribute towards academic research in Environmental Sustainability and work as Environmentalist.

Mr. Nipun Mudgal

Nipun Mudgal is an alumnus of Amity Law School, Noida Batch of 2013-18. He has gained a decent exposure to environmental lawyering through his association with lawyers working in the field. He is a legal professional who holds a keen interest in environmental litigation and policy-intervention. Mr. Mudgal aspires to engage in raising environmental awareness and cause of justice for the poor. His imaginations about environmental law is imbibed in positive attitude through meaningful engagements. He wishes to establish himself globally in the field of environmental law.

"I have enrolled in LLM ELECC due to my keen interest in pursuing masters in environmental law and related disciplines. Working on environmental law and policy, I understand, is a continuous engagement, especially keeping in sight the growing complexities of our times. Like any other legal field, this one comes with its own unique challenges. I believe the Course allows one to explore environmental issues surrounding us all and equips us with the legalese to solve them.”

Ms. Vidhi Thukral

Vidhi Thukral is an alumnus of Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat Batch of 2013-16. She is an enrolled lawyer and has also completed Company Secretary course from Institute of Company Secretaries of India. She is currently working as Assistant Legal Consultant with Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board, New Delhi. Ms. Thukral has actively involved herself in social service. She is a keen environmentalist currently centring her focus on the inter-connectedness between environment and energy laws.
